Tina De Suza

Tina De Suza is an artisan silversmith jeweller working out of her small workshop in Tinopai (on the Kaipara Harbour), with the help of her husband Greg.

Working mainly in sterling silver and copper, Tina's pieces are handmade using traditional silversmithing methods, with some modern casting: her kina pendants for example are cast from kina's found on a beach at Whangarei Heads.

As much as possible Tina uses recycled sterling silver purchased within New Zealand with much of her work created in solid sterling silver.

Upcycling vintage tableware is another passion with her solid sterling silver rings fashioned from original vintage sterling spoons using a 1 tonne Arbor press. These pieces alongside her teaspoon earrings crafted from vintage original silver-plated teaspoon handles create unique affordable silver jewellery. Some of the cutlery pieces Tina uses are well over 100 years old.
