One of the most important things to Quirky Fox is running a business we can be proud of: a business that treats it's artists fairly and limits it's negative impact on the environment:
PRODUCTS: All of our products are either handmade or environmentally friendly using organic ingredients, recyclable components or wood from sustainable forests. We only stock a handful of items that aren't handmade; these are produced by people with a strong eco-friendly principles. By purchasing handmade items you are not only supporting individual artists and designers but helping to build the local economy, creating fairer wages and better working environments while avoiding mass produced items which are often created in poor working conditions.
GIFT WRAPPING: Our gift wrap is printed on 100% recycled paper and made using 100% green wind power. Inks used during the production of our wrapping paper do not contain heavy metals or other chemicals that may harm the environment.
PACKAGING: We are committed to recycling our packaging material as much as possible. Where possible we use ecotrackpak's, made in New Zealand from 100% recycled material. Unfortunately due to the nature of our products we can't always do this so we use alternatives such as boxes we have received stock in. Boxes that are too large for use in store are recycled.
All plastic courier packs that come in are recycled as part of CourierPost's Backtrack Your TrackPaks service. We are happy to take any plastic courier packs our customers bring in and add them to the recycling programme. Our tissue paper, needed to protect delicate items, is hand embossed rather than printed with our logo to reduce the environmental impact associate with printing (energy consumption, toxic inks etc).
CLEANING: Wherever possible we use green cleaning methods and non toxic, bio-degradable cleaning products including washable cleaning cloths and old fashion vinegar (great for streak-free windows).
BAGS: When we realised we wanted to be more eco-friendly we looked at our plastic bags and thought we should change to paper. It took us a while but we finally sourced paper bags that were made in New Zealand. We hand emboss these adding a subtle logo which we hope will encourage people to reuse them.
Shipping: Within New Zealand we have a flat fee ($7.50) for all but our biggest and most precious items (these items have a contact form rather than an 'add to cart' button). We aim to send out orders received the same day (within business hours) for delivery within 2-3 days of your order. We are happy to send items worldwide, simply email us the product you are interested in (using the share button below the product) and we will give you a quote within 24 hours - we prefer to do this over calculating the postage at the checkout as it ensures you get the most accurate price.
Unframed Prints: All unframed prints are sent flat, sandwiched between a backing board and heavy card. All prints are sent wrapped.
Damaged Items: If your item(s) arrive damaged or there is a mistake with your order please contact us immediately at 06 2786909 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Returns: If you are unhappy with your purchase or gift, return it within 14 days, undamaged and in its original condition, for an exchange or store credit. Unfortunately we cannot accept returns on sale items or earrings. Shipping is non-refundable.
Gift Wrapping: Save time by making use of our free gift wrapping service. At the checkout select the gift wrapping option, if you would like a hand written note included just add your message in the comment section. You can choose whether the item is sent to you or to the recipient by adding their address in the shipping section.
