Artist Mia Freeman has captured the Australiasian Bittern in this beautiful watercolour and ink original.
Australiasian Bitterns are endangered in both Australia and New Zealand. They are incredibly well camouflaged, even to the extent of swaying in time with the reeds around them making them more likely to be heard than seen.
'Bellow of the Bitterns' has been framed with a soft sea green circular mount and deep oak frame ready to hang.
Dimensions: 300mm (dia)
Framed Dimensions: 470mm (w) x 480mm (h)

Inspired by a passion for animals and a love of native flora, Mia Freeman is a Melbourne based artist and illustrator whose work playfully brings our awareness back into the natural world.
Mia works mainly with watercolours, pencil, pen and acrylic, and is always experimenting with new ways to connect with her environment. Her work is gentle and warm, using a calming palette and intricate detail.
Mia finds great joy in capturing all she sees around her and finds her two pet snails Humphrey and Lauren to be the most dependable life models.
