'Grumpy' is a hand-pulled original print by Australian artist Kyoko Imazu.
A combination of etching and aquatint, the work further explores Kyoko's fantasy land where giant rabbits, bugs and cats roam the earth. The more you study 'Grumpy' the more you spot from tiny ladybirds to small children climbing giant rabbits like mountains.

As a child in central Japan, Kyoko Imazu drew small animals like rabbits, rats, cats and birds. These animals, alongside a few mythological ones, continue to dominate her etchings, artist books and paper-cut installations.
Moving to Australia in 2002, Kyoko studied at RMIT in Melbourne where she gained a Bachelor of Fine Art in Printmaking, a Diploma of Visual Arts, and a Certificate in Foundation Studies Art, Design and Communications. Since graduating her works, which are largely inspired by her fixation with the animal kingdom, have been exhibited in both solo and group shows throughout the Asia-Pacific region and nominated for several awards.
Kyoko's work is held in collections at RMIT, Sydney College of Arts, the State Library of Queensland and the National Gallery of Australia, as well as private collections.
