"Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil."
Part of Rachelle's Sutherland's latest body of work 'materfamilias' which explores the matriarchs from our past and present, 'Mary Ellen' has been created by using dot after dot in a method called stippling.
Throughout the 'materfamilias' series, the rose represents what is passed on from one generation to the next. It can be manipulated, it can evolve: history can't be changed, but what we carry into the future can be.
'Mary Ellen' has been framed in a dark grey grained frame with a circular mat.
