Creating contemporary abstracts drenched in colour, Jen Sievers aims to draw the viewer into her work and evoke joy, movement and emotion.
Creating art ever since she could hold a pencil, Jen started a fine arts degree before switching to graphic design. Working as a graphic designer for more than a decade, Jen recently returned to her first love, painting.
Jen paints obsessively in her home studio in the foothills of the Waitakeres, New Zealand (when she's not at work or being a mum). Crediting her time as a graphic designer for giving her a greater understanding of art and composition Jen’s work mainly spans large canvases and smaller wooden colour studies. Her varying and constantly evolving style offers something for most artistic tastes.
Jen also creates originals on clear perspex, a medium that allows her works to almost float in their environment taking the background colour of the wall it hangs on and merges with her art.
