Why We’ll Never Be A Big Gallery (And Why That’s The Point)

In a world where we are continuously being told bigger is better, and in a time where AI agents are taking the place of humans, Quirky Fox is following its own path.
We are never going to be the biggest or most famous gallery. We are located in a country of just over five million people, a town of 10,000. We can not compete with the budget and reach of some of the bigger galleries.
Our team is small, just me and the artists I work with. But that is also what makes us special: Instead of masses of artists and walls packed with so much art it becomes an overload we’ve pulled back.
This year we’ve gone smaller, more intimate, more personal and more curated.
We view our artists as equal partners in the gallery and as friends.
We get to know them as well as their art. We get to know their family and their pets. Their views on life and their sense of humour. We share tears and laughter, hopes and nerves.
Instead of massive group exhibitions with dozens of pieces we have 15 or less artists in each show. We get to know the artist and the works so we can give you, the viewer, the best experience - the knowledge, passion and vision of the artist, without taking them away from creating and giving you the chance to ask questions and purchase works without any awkwardness.
We also hope to get to know you and be able to share the odd sneak peek at a piece of work we think you might like, or the back story of a piece you might connect with.
We won’t be the place to go if you want a piece of art to match your decor, but if you want something you can truly connect with, something with meaning and heart, from artists that are not only skilled but genuinely nice people, maybe we are the art gallery you’ve been looking for.
