Brooke Walker
Brooke Walker’s passion for animals and desire to understand the intricate nuance of the human/non-human animal relationship inspires her contemporary arts practice. This love of nature and wildlife was nurtured during childhood, surround by animals on a hobby farm in McLaren Vale, South Australia.
Brooke endeavours to reconnect the human and natural world through carefully considered, thought-provoking imagery. Her work aims to encourage empathy and discussion, inspiring change in human attitudes towards non-human animals and strengthening the bonds between species. This focus has been integral to her Honours in Contemporary Arts Practice, at the Adelaide Central School of Art.
Her works have been both awarded and collected worldwide.
Current, Brooke lives in South Australia with her partner Shaun, Border Collie Theodore, and two cats: Rembrandt and Monet.
