Robyn Lees-West (Textile Taxidermy)
Born in the UK, and now based in Australia Robyn Lees-West makes faux taxidermy birds from retro and reclaimed fabric.
Robyn describes her work as artistic impressions rather than literal interpretations, although her works are often to scale.
Combining her love of colour, pattern, retro fabrics and a childhood fascination with Victoria Taxidermy Museums, each work contains multiple hours of hand stitching and embroidery, manipulating the fabric to look like feathers and fur.
Each work is unique and full of character.
