Maree Robertson
Maree Robertson is a Taranaki based ceramic artist.
Her interest lies in making sculptural forms with influence coming from the wild beauty of Taranaki, New Zealand and the intriguing characters she associates with on a daily basis:
“I enjoy the challenge of taking a conceptual idea and transforming it, using clay, into a three dimensional structure.
Using a variety of techniques I manipulate clay slabs or alter wheel thrown pieces to create sculptural forms and vessels.”
Maree works in stoneware and porcelain, applying a multilayer surface finish using oxides, stains, slips, underglazes, glaze and post firing embellishment.
