Sarah Luttrell
Sarah Luttrell grew up on a sheep and beef farm in the Wairarapa where her love for nature and animals developed.
Inspired by her artist grandmother, Sarah was drawn to art from an early age.
Her greatest art inspiration, discovered when she picked his book as a prize in her early teens, would be Raymond Ching. His work was the start of a passion for realism, a passion that continues today.
After leaving high school, Sarah trained as a manufacturing jeweller, travelled and ran her own jewellery business. It took her 20 years to return to her first love - painting.
Sarah loves to paint native birds but also has a great fondness for house sparrows and capturing their personality and cheeky, somewhat bossy character.
